Hi, I'm Melissa. If you've landed here, there's a good chance that something in your life feels heavy or uncertain. Maybe you've been trying to hold everything together, but inside you feel anxious, sad, or disconnected. You might find yourself repeating the same patterns in your relationship, stuck arguing about the same things, feeling unseen, or unsure how to bridge the distance between you and your partner. Perhaps you've entered a new stage of life that has left you questioning who you are, as you become a parent, face infertility, navigate loss, or manage a major change that's left you off balance. You may even catch yourself thinking, "I should be able to handle this," while feeling exhausted by the effort of trying.

Maybe you and your partner keep having the same argument and can never quite resolve it. Maybe you feel more like roommates than partners. Maybe one of you has pulled away and the other doesn't know how to close the gap. Maybe things are mostly fine but something feels off and you can't put your finger on it. Couples therapy is not just for relationships in crisis. It's for the ones worth investing in.

I know how painful it can be to live in that in-between space, wanting to feel better but not knowing where to start. The truth is, you don't have to keep carrying it alone. As a couples therapist, I work with partners and individuals to slow down, reflect, and reconnect. It's a space to untangle the overwhelm, make sense of your experiences, and begin to feel more grounded and whole. Together, we can explore what's beneath the surface: the worries, patterns, and protective parts that have helped you get by, and create new ways of relating that feel more aligned, compassionate, and connected.

How We’ll Work Together

My approach as a couples therapist is collaborative, relational, and deeply attuned to each person I work with. I meet you where you are, helping you move at a pace that feels safe and sustainable. I integrate psychodynamic and relational therapy with practical tools from CBT and EMDR to support both insight and healing. Whether we're rebuilding after a rupture, navigating the distance that new parenthood can create, working through a transition that has thrown your partnership off course, or processing something more individual like trauma or anxiety, my goal is to help you find clarity, strength, and confidence in who you are and how you relate to others.

Melissa’s Experience

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and couples therapist, I've spent years supporting individuals and couples through complex emotional experiences. I completed my Master’s in Social Work at NYU and trained at The Ackerman Institute for the Family, one of the country's leading centers for couples and family therapy. I’m also a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and have completed EMDR training (Levels 1 & 2) Through Personal Transformation Institute . I have also trained with Postpartum Support International to receive my Postpartum Mental Health Counselor certificate. As a couples therapist and a social worker I understand how systems impact individuals and relationships. My work is guided by an anti-racist, LGBTQ+ affirming, and Health at Every Size lens — because healing happens best in spaces where all parts of you are welcome.

If you're feeling stuck, uncertain, or disconnected, you don't have to face it on your own. Whether you're coming in as a couple or on your own, therapy can help you find a deeper sense of peace, confidence, and connection, both within yourself and in your relationships. You deserve support that meets you where you are and helps you move toward where you want to be.
