Meet Sydney
Hi! I’m Sydney. I believe therapy is a place where we can become empowered to understand our thoughts and feelings deepening our sense of self. Life can present us with unexpected hardships, and in our work together we will process those challenges and explore who you want to be in the face of them.
Sydney’s Experience
I am licensed social worker with a Masters degree in Social Work from New York University. I have extensive experience working with adolescents and adults experiencing challenges related to anxiety, depression, OCD, life transitions, self-esteem, body image, trauma, and grief. I work from a holistic, client-centered, anti-oppressive lens. I have gained my clinical expertise working in community based agencies and private practice. I have a special expertise in career transitions, and as a career shifter myself, I can speak to the unique challenges of pivoting careers.
How We’ll Work Together
I am an engaging, compassionate and thoughtful therapist who takes an empowerment approach to help you build the confidence to know you can tackle life’s obstacles. I incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy into my clinical practice.
I believe you are the expert of your own life, and I work to collaborate with every client to make sure the therapeutic space is filled with empathy, honesty, and trust to allow for a healing space full of meaningful growth. We will create a unique approach that meets your therapeutic needs and sets you on the path to achieving your goals. Our space will always be warm, supportive, and non-judgemental.
I practice from an Anti-Racist stance, use a Health At Every Size (HAES) perspective and am a LGBTQ+ affirming therapist.
